Al Arabi coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Al Wakrah.
“The team prepared well for the Al Wakrah match. We performed well in the Al Ahli match, with some negatives, which we worked on in order to avoid them in future and improve performance in the upcoming matches.
“All players are ready for the match. We had some absences in the previous match, but now the team ranks are complete with the exception of injured Abdulaziz Al Ansari and the duo of Jassim Jaber and Mahmoud Abunada, who are with the Qatar national team at the Gulf Cup in Basra.
“Al Wakrah are a strong team that made great performances in the league and have distinguished players, and have been performing well under Spanish coach Marques Lopez.
“We have always got the support of our fans and we expect to keep receiving it. The three points from this game will give us a great advantage to keep going strong on top of the table,” said Younes.
Al Arabi goalkeeper Jassim Al Hail said, “The Al Wakrah match will be difficult and exciting, but the team is well prepared and ready for it. Our ambition is to win and collect the three points.
“We realize the importance of the match, and the strength and desire of Al Wakrah to achieve victory, but we focus on ourselves and look for victory in all matches, regardless of the opponents. Therefore, the team is well-prepared for this outing and to collect the three points.”
