Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Rayyan.
“The break was difficult due to the long period, but we all enjoyed the exceptional World Cup. We, in Al Sailiya, tried to adapt to the circumstances we went through during the World Cup and we competed in the FIFA Referee Cup, and played many matches. But of course, that does not make up for the official games.
“We tried to prepare the team in view of the difficult circumstances, especially at the psychological level, and we have seen from the players determination, discipline and a great desire for a successful return to competitions and achieve positive results.
“Al Rayyan are going through a period like our team, but there remains a great team that is able to return at any time and has a strong personality and includes some good players who are able to achieve positive results. God-willing, we will be ready, especially on the psychological front. We find in the players the determination to achieve a positive result.
“We have a desire to support the team with some positions at the level of players, whether local or foreign professionals, but circumstances do not allow. We will try to deal with the existing players and make the best out of their capabilities,” said Trabelsi.
Al Sailiya player Rami Fayez said, “The preparations were at the highest level, led by coach Sami Trabelsi, who always keeps us at the top of readiness despite the difficult circumstances. Our goal against Al Rayyan is victory and we are ready for the game, especially since it comes at the beginning of the resumption of competitions. Victory will give us a psychological motivation ahead of the next matches.”
