The Qatar Stars League (QSL) held its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, President of QSL, CEO, Board Members, heads as well as representatives of member clubs of General Assembly and QSL’s Executive Directors.

Mr. Al Buenain, who welcomed all attendees, said, “We thank the presidents and representatives of clubs for attending the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, where the club representatives are elected to the Executive Committee of QSL for the next four years and I take this opportunity to thank brothers in the Electoral Committee for their efforts in managing the preliminary procedures of electoral process. I also express my sincere thanks on this occasion to Mr. Turki Al Ali and Mr. Arif Abdul Rahman for the valuable contributions and efforts they made while representing the clubs in the Executive Committee. I also wish success to the club candidates and look forward towards fruitful work with them in the Executive Committee.”

The QSL president continued, “The 2023-2024 season was full of many distinguished and promising statistics and numbers that must be built on in the future. They include increase in the scoring rate in Expo Stars League matches, total number of goals scored and crowd attendance. This wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the combined efforts of QSL and club companies. In this regard, I would like to emphasize that the rise in the level of our domestic championships benefits our national teams.”

Mr. Al Buenain added, “All the best and success to everyone in the new season, which will start on August 9, as the start of the season was announced early to give everyone the opportunity to prepare and make arrangements in a distinctive and strong way. I wish success to all clubs during the next stage and also to our clubs in their overseas participation.”

Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan, CEO of QSL, reviewed the agenda as the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting was ratified in accordance with QSL’s statutes and the agenda was approved, and members were appointed to record the proceedings of the meeting and review it.

Also approved were the minutes of the previous General Assembly Meeting held on December 19, 2023, approval of the annual report on QSL’s activity, presentation and approval of QSL’s audited financial statements for the year ended, approval of independent auditor’s report and discussions on the proposals submitted by the members.

The General Assembly also witnessed the election of representatives of club companies who are members of the QSL Executive Committee via electronic voting and they are: Mr. Faisal Ali Al Shuaibi, Mr. Rashid Issa Al Dossari and Mr. Arif Abdul Rahman.

The Executive Committee of QSL congratulated the elected representatives of club companies, wishing everyone success.
