Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 15 match against Al Sadd.

“In our previous match against Al Rayyan, we didn't play to our potential and we could not score despite creating chances. But as a coach I take things into account and we shall work towards correcting our mistakes. The team is much better than how we played in the last game and will work to provide the best performance against Al Sadd.

“Al Sadd are a strong team and have the best players. The match will not be easy but we will work to prepare the team to provide the best technical levels and produce the required results. I have confidence in the abilities of the players. They will come back strongly and overcome the loss against Al Rayyan to make the Al Ahli fans happy.

“It is very important for the players to perform well against Al Sadd and defend their chances of winning, especially in view of our need to advance in the league standings,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli player Al Dokali Al Sayed said, “Everyone knows Al Sadd’s technical strength and their results in the competition but we as players must make efforts and provide the best level in order to come out with a positive result. We have the desire and strength to make a comeback after our loss in the last Al Rayyan match which we lost by four goals.

“The match against Al Sadd will not be easy and we are aware of this but have to have the desire to win and to perform better on the field and come up with points. We need to do our best to get the required result.”
