Al Shamal coach Poya Asbhagi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 18 match against Al Duhail.

“We achieved a valuable victory over Al Markhiya in our last match in the league, which was the second victory in a row, and now a very difficult match awaits us against a strong team.

“Al Duhail are the holders of the league title and regardless of their recent results, they remain a strong team full of prominent players with tremendous potential, so the game will be difficult for them and we must be adequately prepared for it.

“I hope we can put up a strong show, especially since we are looking forward to get more points in order to secure a good ranking in the league table away from the danger zone,” said Asbhagi.

Al Shamal player Mohammed Omar said, “The match will certainly be difficult against a strong and large team coming from negative results and thus striving hard to compensate and win.

“We are also looking forward to the three points and therefore we will play for victory and will try to provide a good level through which we will continue the good performances that the team presented in the last two league matches.

“All of our players are up to the responsibility and will do their best to achieve victory and score three points despite the difficulty of the match against Al Duhail.”
