Al Rayyan Club has officially announced the departure of its Moroccan striker Achraf Bencharki from the team.
Bencharki had joined the team at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season coming from Emirati team Al Jazira to replace compatriot Sufiyan Boufal after he suffered an injury.
Al Rayyan posted a message on its official account on “X” platform which said: “Thank you, Achraf Bencharki. We wish you good luck and success in the future.”
During his professional career, Bencharki played for many clubs, most notably Morocco Fes, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, Lens of France, Zamalek of Egypt and Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates, besides Al Rayyan. He also played for the Moroccan senior national team in 18 matches, scoring only one goal.
Al Rayyan Club had earlier terminated the contract of its Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim by mutual consent.
The Al Rayyan team will be at a training camp in the Netherlands from 10th to 29th July in preparation for the new season.
