Qatar’s Al Duhail take on Iran’s Sepahan in the second round of their 2022 AFC Champions League campaign in Group D on Sunday, 10th April. The match will kick off at 20:15 at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraidah.
Al Duhail had opened their campaign on a losing note as they went down fighting 1-2 against Saudi Arabi’s Al Taawoun in Group D, which also consists of Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor.
Al Duhail, playing their first game under new coach Hernan Crespo who had recently replaced Portuguese Luis Castro, had taken the lead in the seventh minute through Edmilson Junior, but they could not hold on to that and conceded goals from Leandre Tawamba and Alvaro Medran of Al Taawoun.
The Red Knights would be keen to compensate for their loss when they face Al Taawoun, who made it to the group stage by beating Syria’s Al Jaish SC 5-4 on penalties in Play-Off.
Sepahan, meanwhile, are on a high after defeating Pakhtakor in the first round.
They know fully well that they would face a strong competitor in Al Duhail, so an exciting contest is in the offing.
