Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League postponed match from Week 10 against Al Arabi.

“When we win, everything is positive although we still have some problems related to instability. But our results in the last six matches give some answers about our reaction and step by step we find ourselves in a positive period.

“We know that they are a good team and have high competitive ability, They are one of the largest competitive teams in the league and they are strong collectively and fight as a group. Therefore, it will be an important match for us because we want to reach the top four and all games are like final matches for us.

“I hope to see more and more of our fans at the stadium and this is important for us as things are different for us if the fans are present because I am sure that their presence and support will make our matches better,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa player Ahmed Alaaeldin said, “The players’ morale is good after the victory over Qatar SC in the Amir Cup. They are keen to correct some mistakes that occur in matches, which may cause instability at the performance level.

“This may be due to psychological rather than physical reasons, as the players’ physical indicators confirm that they are at their best levels.

“Looking at the rankings, I think it (fifth place) does not match our technical capabilities and I believe the difference between us and Al Arabi are not big and it will be a close contest.

“I wish we succeed in making our fans happy and we are awaiting their support in the Al Arabi match.”
