Al Rayyan coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 10 match against Al Shamal.

“The match against Al Shamal is important for us, especially since the opponents are performing well, and our position in the league increases the difficulty and importance of the match, and we must work harder to get the three points.

“The team is in the best possible condition for this match, and that morale is high, especially after the victory over Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan in the last match of AFC Champions League Elite.

“Al Shamal are performing well and have good names in the attacking line, and we must be careful and the team must be in full focus from the first minute to the last minute, to get the three points, and the team must be mentally present to deal with the small details to win the three points.

“We played well in the previous four matches, but could not translate opportunities into goals.

“The start will be from the next match against Al Shamal, our focus now is on the existing group and winning the next four games, two matches in the league and two matches in AFC Champions League Elite, after which there will be a long break during which we will think about strengthening the team,” said Younes.

Al Rayyan player Andre Amaro said, “Al Shamal match is important. We know that it will be a difficult game, we know that the team's position in the league is not good, so the Al Shamal match is a good opportunity to make a comeback.

“We have to score more than the opposing team, we have to be careful not to concede any goal, and this match will be our comeback. The players have prepared well and they are ready to provide 100 per cent of the required performance.”
