Al Shahania face Al Wakrah in Week 3 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Friday, August 23, 2024. The kick-off is at 8.30pm.

Promoted Al Shahania and fancied Al Wakrah will both go into the match hoping to bag their first win of the league championship after having drawn in their respective previous two rounds.

Both teams have two points to their name so far. While Al Shahania have played goalless draws against Al Arabi and Al Khor in the first and second round respectively, Al Wakrah were involved in an exciting 2-2 draw with Al Ahli 2-2 in Week 1 and a 1-1 draw with Al Arabi in the second round.

Al Shahania coach Alvaro Mejia and his players will seek to provide their best in this match, which comes before the first break for the league. The coach relies on Marc Muniesa, Pelle van Ameersfoort, Sven van Beek, Alhassan Koroma, Lotfi Madjer, Mohamed Bader Sayyar and a number of other distinguished players.

On the other hand, a victory is important for Al Wakrah and a chance to return to the previous level as they were during the last season. The team’s Spanish coach Miguel Angel will try to correct the mistakes of the first and second rounds and strategize to achieve victory for the team to gain in confidence.
